The newly announced athletic kits for Team USA have shed some much-needed light on the ridiculousness of male and female workplace dress standards. So let’s compare them.

The men’s track and field kits are what you’d expect – standard, a pair of shorts and a vest, covering everything it needs and allowing them to perform to maximum capacity.

As for the women’s… let’s just say it doesn’t leave much to the imagination.

With high cuts and a serious lack of material in the appropriate areas, the women’s uniform is a far cry from the modesty and practicality of the men’s.

When you’re competing in prestigious world events, such as the Olympics, the last thing you want to be worrying about is the possibility of flashing the entire world because of how your clothes are fitting.

When the image of the kits went live on Twitter (X) – people had a lot of opinions.

So why do the men automatically get given shorts and the women given a bodysuit that’s borderline scandalous? Is it sexism or is it just ignorance?
